Hi everyone,
I've given a lot of thought on what I wanted to do for the 15% assignment for COMM4310 and I finally decided to act on a plan. The plan I chose might not exactly seem conventional in regards to the themes and ideas of social entrepreneurship, but I think it relates strongly enough to some of the ideas we covered in class.
For my 15% I decided that I would do something that I've wanted to do for a very long time but that I've kept putting off. I decided that I'd write and create my very own comic book. I'm a big fan of all sorts of comic books but I'm especially fond of superhero comics. And that's what this is going to be: the superhero comic that's been kicking around my brain for as long as I can remember.
Before I embark on this endeavor I feel like I should let you all know that I've always wanted to be a comic book writer. I am in no way shape or form an artist and I think it's fair to say that I'm absolutely awful at drawing. However, I feel like it'd be a bit of a lame project if I just handed in a script and said "This is the script for my comic! Imagine it in your head!" so for the purpose of this project I will try and draw the comic as well as writing it.
In a perfect world I could write the scripts for some issues and team up with an amateur artist who wants some experience and we could collaborate on the process, but due to time constraints and the fact that this is supposed to be my project means I'll be flying solo on this one.
This is basically a really long winded way for me to say that I'll be writing and drawing(poorly) my very own comic! I'm excited to embark on this entrepreneurial venture(I told you it related to some themes!) and I look forward to sharing my work.
Thanks for listening!
